Neighborhood Centers Inc. in partnership with other local agencies, regularly holds free citizenship and immigration forums. Local attorneys and immigration specialists speak on the rights and responsibilities of citizens and participants receive free one-on-one legal assistance from immigration attorneys.

Our program offers volunteer engagement through instruction, and interaction. Volunteers are needed to assist qualified Legal Permanent Residents in completing U.S. citizenship applications. Training is provided for each volunteer, so you can feel comfortable assisting naturalization applicants. Other duties include  forum set up, food assistance, heading registration table, and more. Being bilingual is not required but it is helpful.

We also look for volunteers who are passionate about teaching civics and U.S. history to our applicants, attorneys, and law students who are enthusiastic about assisting with applications.

When We Need You:
Forums are typically scheduled on Saturdays 10am-12pm throughout the year at various Greater Houston locations. They are often during lunchtime on Saturdays, or in the evening on weekdays. See our calendar for the upcoming forums.
